With the Nokia 770 Tablet/PDA/whatever, now available for $359.99 from NokiaUSA.com, we will be keeping an eye on it, namely because it has a lot of potential as a mobile genealogy platform. It runs Linux, through the Maemo Development Platform, and already there has been a lot of Linux software compiled/packaged for it.
Some of this software includes the AbiWord word processor, as well as Gnumeric and a host of other applications. We can hope that perhaps GRAMPS (Linux-based genealogy application) will be ported/packaged, as well as Java being added at some point
